Anyone can wrap an LLM. The difference is the prompting, the model selection, and a relentless focus on languages everyone else ignores. Writar isn't trying to be Google Translate with a coat of paint. It's a writing tool for people who want to sound like themselves, in any language.

How we built this page (transparency)

The Writar column shows the actual output of our production prompt running on Claude Sonnet 4.6 (default tier) and Opus 4.6 (Pro tier). The system prompt is in our public repo at backend/lib/prompts.js.
The Google Translate column shows what Google's neural translation API returns for the same source. We are not cherry-picking, the literal/textbook output is consistent across re-runs.
The QuillBot column shows QuillBot's translator output. QuillBot's translation engine is licensed and is comparable to standard NMT systems for non-English targets, especially Haitian Kreyòl, where it falls back to formal/literary register.
For Haitian Kreyòl specifically, Writar is tuned to avoid "Kreyòl swa" (formal/textbook Kreyòl that nobody actually texts in) and instead uses the rhythm and code-switching real Ayisyen use every day.
